The speech is historical and I think is great that now is available for download in the Itunes as a free video.
There are parts that are quite emotive so avoid watching in a sad mood if you don’t want to cry.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

2. You don’t really need an XP upgrade. What does Vista does that XP does not?
   There is really no need to waste money on a Vista upgrade. There are good linux distributions like Ubuntu that will do much more than Vista and will make you save money.
3. Vista automatic upgrades : As default when you switch off the PC it makes you wait until installing all the updates. You don’t really want this.
4. Driver support. It just _sucks_ and there is still 1 month I got this Dell with Vista and I still couldn’t make bluetooth work. I’ve read that Nvidia is working furiously to get a stable driver for the 8800 out by the 30th and also Creative’s popular DirectSound based EAX no longer works at all. That among some popular things that don’t work. With the same laptop I booted the latest Ubuntuin another partition and everything was working out of the box (even bluetooth).
5. Very bad usability. Alerts eveywhere each time you want to do anything. It really makes you feel a stupid user with warnings like : Do you really want to […] The software XXXXX is trying to […] So you are constantly making clicks to confirm all this alerts making the user experience quite disgusting. This is the famous Vista stupid allow popup that asks you every time you want to do anything!

Apart of all this and more you can read here and here this Windows version is definitively the worst I ever tried.

Lately we’ve seen many video sites arise with the flash-video boom. So one of my first choices was youtube but now seeing that there is good competition I choosed brightcove.tv and another one called blip.tv . So far I was uploading all my videos from the Nokia mobile to this blip.tv beta site but now with great surprise I found out this:

UPDATE*: The Ceo of Blip, Mike Hudack, contacted me and told me it was a temporary failure. He leaved me a link to his blog where he explains what happened.

I hope it’s just a temporary server update and they will be up again because otherwise I will loose all this videos. So I started to think that it’s a good idea to upload in two or three sites just in case.

The great feature of YouTube is that they manteined backwards compatibility with flash 7. This believe it or not, opens the video experience to a great audience, since not everybody has the latest flash player.

A new idea from Martín Varsavsky is to search in the blogoshpere in  Technorati and news crawlers like Google News. The site he projected is called Unfolding News and was realized by the Fon team in Catalunya. To read more go to Martin’s blog entry about this.

It seems the weather is getting crazy in this part of the mediterranean. Last October 4th storm was tragic and the complete losts are evaluated by the authorities in 30 million Euros.
Today the wind is not that strong so I hope that it will be not the same chaos as the last one.
