Dell has the ability to do “magic” with the dates of the order status. I experienced this after buying a 1400 euro Dell XPS last 20 of July. I will avoid giving names of the commercial and people that had to do with this sale because this nothing to do with them, it’s Dell fault and trickery.
The original delivery date in the order status was 21/08/2007 exactly one month after the date I bought it.
Well now look at the order status:

As you can see they just decided from one day to another to add two months in the release day. I though there was an error on their system so I called. It was not, it seems more people than expected bought the XPS at the same time so there are production items that are out of stop.
Until now, Dell seemed to me one of the most wiser and trustable stores online, now I changed my opinion a little bit.
UPDATE
Today on Slashdot :
“In the next few days, Pope Benedict XVI plans to issue his second encyclical, in which he is expected to denounce the use of tax havens as socially unjust and immoral in that they cheat the greater well-being of society. He is also expected to argue that the globalized economic world needs to be regulated. Prime technology companies playing the offshore ‘profit laundering’ game include Dell, Google, Microsoft, and Sun, who set up subsidiaries in Ireland, where the corporate tax rate is a low 12.5% and no taxes are charged on royalties (e.g. from patents).”
This days I stopped a little bit hanging out and started renting some movies in the friendly video nearby. In the store there were some special series of Michelangelo Antonioni. A director I admire very much.
So I rented first:
A very good one with Jack Nicholson playing the role of a reporter that does a great shift in his live. This one is for watching twice.
And then I saw:
That didn’t captured me that much, maybe because I stopped it many times, or I was not in my best mood. But the photography is excellent, London in the sixties at it’s best, with all the ambient an noises. I guess I didn’t connect with the film… I recommend it though and I’m going to watching again later.
One thing I didn’t know is that Jane Birkin is also a singer. The memorable scenes with Gillian Hills in Blow up can be seen here. After seeing both videos you will appreciate that she is incredibly beutiful young and years later.
Maestro Antonioni y Bergman… Ripose in pace
As some say Before them, films were just movies
I’m testing this multimedia center that I bought in PcBox for 85 euro. For the market price it’s super complete and that’s why I’m writing this review. The functionality it offers is the following :
(Personal comments in Italics)
Recommended. This have been probably the best 85 euros I’ve ever spended on hardware devices. Now my TV is very happy ;)
Lately I’ve been receiving lots of request from friends that are invading my gmail acount from myspace. As you can see in this screenshot this are not “real friends” they are just people spamming myspace to get traffic for their own sites:
Look that Janey, Gaynell and Eboni are the same chick and same photo. The spammers are so stupid that they even use the same photo for different profiles. I call this technique “Web disemination” or “Social Spamming”.
I usually follow this simple 3 steps rule to accept a friend in any network:
Well lately myspace is filling my gmail inbox with this stupid spam friends something that I think it will make me keep only more serious and real social networks as facebook.
